     Subsequent to 1933, the enrollment at the junior college climbed to new heights, and additional bungalows crowded in the small campus. Thus, in 1940, the Board of Education purchased a new 20-acre site a mile and a half to the east of the existing school in anticipation of developing a new junior college campus. Preliminary plans were already under consideration when the entry of the United States into World War II brought the possibility of a new college abruptly to a halt. [71.
