A.B. Hotchkiss, Public Economy All Along the Line, Los Angeles Times, July 9, 1899, p. A 13
. . .
Public Economy is the name of a new monthly journalistic venture by A.B. Hotchkiss of this city, and is devoted "to a discussion of the best methods of keeping down public taxes and assessments. State, county, municipal and national." It advocates government storage reservoirs, and condemns as arbitrary and vicious the "Vrooman law" on the opening and construction of streets. It is replete with matter pertinent to the foregoing purposes, and is well written and neatly printed.
